The Festival of Trees is back.

There’s 18 decorated trees being auctioned tonight (Friday) at the North Bay Golf and Country Club, with wreaths also being auctioned too.

Hospital Foundation President and CEO Tammy Morison tells BayToday two groups are benefiting this year.

“This year’s Festival of Trees supports the PADDLE Program and the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation. For the Hospital Foundation we are putting the proceeds toward the Cancer Care Close To Home campaign,” she says.

Co-ordinator Jean Jamieson tells BayToday they’re hoping to match the $25,000 they raised last year.

“The community embraces the Festival of Trees, I think the fact is that we give back to the community,” she says.

Before tonight’s live auction, which goes at 7 pm, there’s a hot chili lunch.

It runs from 11 am to 1 pm at the North Bay Golf and Country Club.

North Bay Chief of Police, Shawn Devine will be a special guest server.

Cost is $10/person and includes chili, a cheese bun, Christmas cookie and bottle of water.
