The North Bay Battalion have won four straight.

The Troops beat the Bulldogs 3-2 in Hamilton yesterday (Sunday).

This after Saturday’s 5-2 win in Erie.

Brad Chenier (pictured) scored twice yesterday for North Bay with Justin Brazeau adding a single.

Brazeau’s goal was his 16th on the year, giving him 33 points.

The Troops Captain continues to lead the OHL scoring race.

Goaltender Christian Propp was named first star in Sunday’s game after making 31 saves in the win.

The Troops are back in action Thursday at home to Erie.

 

The season has come to an end for both Nipissing Lakers soccer teams.

They both lost 5-1 in their quarterfinal matchups.

The women were in Kingston playing Queen’s while the men were in Ottawa taking on Carleton.

In OUA women’s hockey, the Nipissing Lakers women’s team has won two straight.

After a 2-1 overtime win over Waterloo on Saturday, the Lakers shutout Laurier 2-0 yesterday to improve to 4-2 on the season.

The Nipissing men, meantime, lost both their games on the weekend, 3-1 to Laurier on Friday, then 5-3 to Waterloo on Saturday.

In OUA women’s basketball, the Nipissing Lakers women’s basketball team lost their season opener 86-60 to Laurentian on Friday in Sudbury.

On the men’s side, the Lakers play Laurentian on Wednesday.

In OUA volleyball, the Nipissing men won 3-1 over York on Saturday while the women lost 3-1 to York.

 

Canadore won their season opener in OCAA men’s basketball yesterday.

The Panthers defeated Loyalist 71-69.

Meantime, both Canadore volleyball teams beat Loyalist 3-0 on the weekend.

The women are 2-0 on the season while the men are now 1-1.

 

In the NOJHL, the Powassan Voodoos look for their third straight win tonight at home to Cochrane.

Game time at the Powassan Sportsplex is 7 o’clock.

The Voodoos beat Kirkland Lake 4-2 on Friday then shut out French River 4-0 on Saturday.

 

The NDA senior football final is all set.

West Ferris will play St Joseph-Scollard Hall on Friday at 7 pm at the Omischl Sports Complex.

The Trojans advanced to their 18th straight NDA final with a 42-13 win over Franco Cite in their semifinal match-up on Friday.

In the other semi, St Joseph-Scollard Hall scored on the final drive of the game to win 32-29 over Algonquin.

This is the third season in a row the Bears will meet up with the Trojans in the final.

West Ferris has won the last two NDA banners.
