The campaign has wrapped up and it’s Election Day for municipalities across the province.

Here in North Bay there are 26 councillor candidates and four people running for mayor.

The polls are open from 10 am to 8 pm.

City Clerk Karen McIsaac says the best piece of ID to bring to the poll is a driver’s license or provincial ID card.

“If they don’t those particular items what they can do is bring their health card, which shows their birthday and name, and then they need to bring something that shows their qualifying address. That would be a utility bill, a tax bill or a lease,” she says.

Meantime, McIsaac says voter turnout was up at the advance polls.

“We had more this year, we had 3,010 in 2018 and in 2014 we had 2,614,” she says.
