The provincial government says the Parry Sound 33 forest fire is being held, and some waterway and road restrictions have been lifted.
Officials also say Mexican firefighters who helped battle fires in the province have returned home.
They say all other out-of-province fire crews will be demobilized today.
The Natural Resources Ministry says some parts of northwestern Ontario are still burning and the fire danger remains high to extreme.
