Children ages 4-11 have been taking part in Science North Summer Camps in North Bay over the last several weeks.

Josee Bertrand is a staff scientist with Science North.

She told BayToday the whole idea with the camps is to make science fun.

“They were able to be hands on and by being hands on and having fun that takes away the stigma of science being boring. Because it’s not. It’s cool and interactive,” she says.
She says the children have been learning all kinds of science including physics, biology and chemistry.

Science North is up and running in 36 communities including North Bay.

They have 5 staff working in North Bay throughout the year.
