Progress is reported in containing the massive Parry Sound 33 wildfire that been burning in northern Ontario for three weeks.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says the fire has scorched more than 110 square kilometres but is now classified as being held by firefighters.
The ministry’s Shayne McCool says “held” means the blaze should stay within boundaries established by fire crews.
Currently, 247 firefighters and support staff are battling the fire, and evacuation orders for Killarney, French River and surrounding areas remain in effect.
