A report involving a new arena for North Bay is one of several items on the Council agenda tonight (Tuesday).

There’s a new draft recommendation.

It calls on the Arena Committee to dig deeper into the benefits and challenges with going after a Private Public Partnership Project to replace West Ferris Arena, and to report by by September 4th.

Two weeks ago the item was pulled from the Council agenda over the wording of the previous recommendation, which would have referred a land purchase near the Omischl Sports Complex to committee.

The regular Council meeting starts at 7:30 pm with a presentation from Invest North Bay.

A couple of councillor motions are also on the agenda.

One involves renaming the August Civic Holiday (Zoongaabwidaa Giizhgad Day – Standing Strong Together Day) while the other calls for long-term or permanent provincial funding for the film industry.

There’s only one item on the committee agenda, which goes at 6:30 pm.

An Algonquin Traffic Study is up for discussion.
