Alliance French Immersion Public School was put in a ‘hold and secure’ situation Wednesday.

The Near North Board says the precautionary measure was taken, after “a student reported that a man was seen on school property with what the student believed, may have been a gun.’

Two other students reported seeing a man on school property they didn’t recognize.

Police were called and students remained in their classrooms for about an hour.

The release from the board says the safety of students and staff remained of utmost importance during the situation.
