North Bay is once again gathering to show support for our military members.

The 8th annual Armed Forces Day goes at the waterfront and includes the CF-18 air demonstration team and the Canadian Forces Parachute team, the Skyhawks.

Honourary Colonel George Burton says there a bit of change to this year’s event.

“There will be no parade this year, we’re going to have a gathering by the bandshell. Kick-off time is 10:30 in the morning for school children and those that can’t attend the 6 o’clock evening twilight show,” he says.

There’s also static military displays, including a CF-18 cockpit.

Honourary Colonel Harriet Madigan says military personnel to a lot for the community.

“I haven’t been to an event yet where I haven’t seen a volunteer military person taking part and being actively involved in their community, it’s awesome,” she says.

Everyone is being encouraged to wear red.
