Near normal.

That pretty much sums up the summer forecast from The Weather Network for the North Bay area.

Meteorologist Nadine Powell says temperatures are expected to be seasonal.

“Normal conditions for us in terms of temperatures, but that’s not to say that within proximity to some of that cold air slightly to the north, we won’t get a swipe or two of cold air that will bring out temperatures a little bit on the cool side,” she says.

Precipitation is also expected to be near normal.

However, Powell says we are on the cusp of a trough of above normal activity, which dominates southern Ontario this summer.

“We should be more or less on the seasonal side with regard to precipitation, if you’ve seen our graphic it has that edge of that above-normal (trough), within close proximity to our area,” she says.
