North Bay Police advising of a fraud scam.

Police say someone received a call from someone saying they were from the Canada Revenue Agency.

They were told they had money owing on their taxes and if they didn’t pay the police would arrest them and they would go to jail.

The victim paid $13,000 through internet transfers and iTunes gift cards.

Police say the CRA would never use language like that to threaten you and always check their web site for more information.

As well, credit card information would never be asked for.
