North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce officials are at Queen’s Park today (Monday).

President and CEO Peter Chirico says along with other chambers from around the province, they’re meeting with cabinet ministers and opposition party members.

“To provide them with tangible solutions to address the challenges that businesses are facing,” he says. “If we choose prosperity, then all of Ontario wins.”

Chirico also says they’ve launched a major letter writing campaign, called ‘Vote Prosperity’, with the Ontario Chamber.

It encourages provincial candidates in the upcoming election to support their recommendations to help bolster Ontario’s long-term economic outcomes.

“We know that Ontario businesses are the backbone of our economy and each one of our communities. We need all of those election items being addressed.” he says.

There are four main points they’re relaying.

“Strengthening business competitiveness, foster job creation, and that’s probably the most important one, build our healthy communities and improve government accountability,” Chirico says.
