Buying winter tires could save you money should the Progressive Conservatives win the upcoming provincial election.

That announcement today (Monday) from Incumbent PC candidate Vic Fedeli.

“A $500 tax credit is going to be the incentive to get families to purchase winter tires and make it a far safer place for themselves and for others out on the road,” he says.

Fedeli says a vehicle with proper winter tires can stop 25% faster on snow and ice than a vehicle without winter tires.

He also welcomes the fact the province recently created a mandatory insurance rate discount for drivers who purchase winter tires.

While at the Gold Fleet Subaru North Bay dealership, Fedeli said to expect more announcements like this.

Pointing to a vehicle-related example he says life in Ontario has become unaffordable with the Liberals.

“In the last four years vehicle registration and licences brought $503-million in increased fees to the province of Ontario,” he says.

Voters in Ontario head to the polls in June.
