Most major crime areas down in North Bay

North Bay Police have released the latest crime stats.

When compared to last year, police activity has dropped by nearly a thousand incidents, to the end of May.

Calls for service and total criminal offences are down.

In fact, most major crime areas, including sexual offences, assaults, robberies and mischief charges, are all down.

Break, enter and thefts along with counts of theft under $5,000 are both up.

Drug charges are nearly the same as last year.
