The provincial budget is being tabled next week and Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is calling on the Finance Minister to remember the north.

In a letter, the PC Finance Critic points to hospital cuts, unaffordable hydro, along with cap-and-trade and school closures that are all having an impact.

Under this government life has become harder for the people of Northern Ontario. My constituents are working harder, paying more, but getting less. They can’t afford to be left behind by yet another Liberal Budget,” stated Fedeli.

He says the government needs to get debt under control, take immediate action to address the root cause of high hydro rates, put an end to what he calls the Cap-And-Trade “tax grab” that’s impacting business and put a moratorium on school closures.

“The people of Ontario deserve better. We expect your Liberal government will include these recommendations in the upcoming budget,” he says.

Finance Minister Charles Sousa delivers the provincial budget next Thursday, April 27th.
