Two Mattawa residents- a male and a female- have been charged with several offenses including possession of Cannabis Marihuana, possession for the purpose of trafficking under 3 kilograms, unauthorized possession of a firearm and careless storage of a firearm. The charges were laid after police executed a search warrant on Park Street in Mattawa.

OPP have laid impaired driving charges against three people in the last few days.

North Bay OPP say last Friday morning, a vehicle was travelling the wrong way on Algonquin Avenue, crossed a cement barrier and entered a parking lot at 2:35 in the morning.

The charges against the 25 year old North Bay man include impaired driving, possession of Cannabis Marihuana and possession of another drug.

Also, Mattawa OPP say last Friday evening, a 29 year old male driving a pickup truck was observed at a R.I.D.E. check in Mattawa.

After being stopped he was charged with driving with open liquor and not having insurance.

And on Tuesday, North Bay OPP were told about about a vehicle travelling northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 11 at Highway 64.

The 66 year old driver was located in Callander and charged with driving while impaired.
