Local residents who are thinking of starting their own business may want to circle April 12th on the calendar.
That’s when the city and The Business Centre Nipissing Parry Sound are hosting the “Opening Doors for Business” forum at The Grande downtown.
It’s all about celebrating and inspiring future business leaders locally.
There will be information on starting a business, including local services and supports, while local entrepreneurs and business leaders will also be sharing their secrets of success.
“The best way to grow the economy is to motivate the growth of small and medium businesses locally,” said Mayor Al McDonald. “We hope this panel will inspire and encourage people in North Bay and surrounding communities with an interest in business to think about becoming entrepreneurs.”
“Business is the backbone for all successful cities to create jobs and opportunities for citizens,” said McDonald. “We want local entrepreneurs to think about our city as a great place to start or expand their business, and know that it would be a welcome addition to our economy.”
Opening Doors for Business will include opportunities to network and engage with local business leaders and professionals.
Scheduled panelists include: Vicky Paine-Mantha (Brontaine Ltd.), Conrad Guziewicz (Sandbank Homes), Jennifer McNutt Bywater (Vested Interest), George Flumerfelt (J.S. Redpath Holdings Inc.), Andrew Morrison (The Escape Movement), Tom Palangio (WipWare Inc.), Corina Moore (Ontario Northland), Katie Bevan (the FARM), John Lechlitner (Cecil’s Brewhouse & Kitchen), and Luc Stang (Gin-Cor Industries). Collectively, this business panel has over one billion in annual sales.
“We want to give entrepreneurs the power to have independent success,” said Denise Sherritt, Manager, The Business Centre Nipissing Parry Sound. “We hope that this event helps them discover their passion.”
Registration is required by April 7th and there is no charge.
