The Northern Ontario Open Country Singing Contest returns for another year starting today at the Bill Barber Complex in Callander.

Harley Renaud is with the Nipissing Country Music Association which has been putting on this event for almost three decades.

He says they’ll have competitors from throughout Ontario.

He says they will have entrants from London, Ottawa and throughout the local area.

He says they expect over 40 competitors in the various divisions which include duets, Karaoke, 18 and under, open classes and 50 plus.

Renaud says the finals will take place on Sunday afternoon and evening and there’s no admission fee.
