footballThe north end of the Widdifield Football field is being referred to as a “swamp” and Dave Thompson says it’s something that needs to be fixed.

He says they have awarded a contract for $130,000 to fix that issue.

However, the Chair of the Near North District School Board adds it’s not something they can keep repairing every three years.

He says it costs them big money every three years to replace or repair the grass fields and that’s not good for the tax payers, and it’s also deteriorating part of the track.

Thompson adds they are putting their capital plan in place and one thing they will discuss is artificial turf fields.
