Mark King - CapsuleNorth Bay City Council is against the privatization of Hydro One. The province plans to  sell up to 60 per cent of Hydro One, but not allow any one shareholder to own more than 10 per cent, so the government’s 40 per cent would still give it  control of the utility. Last Monday, council passed a resolution in opposition to the provinces plans. The motion was brought forward by chair of Community Services Mark King.

He says electricty is like water. He says everyone needs it and it must be affordable.

King says a copy of the motion has been forwarded to the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities, the premier, MPP Vic Fedeli and the provincial Minister of Energy Bob Chiarelli.
