House“Disappointing;” that’s how Deputy Mayor Sheldon Forgette describes his reaction after a residential housing application was denied by council on Monday.

The applicant was hoping Council would make an amendment to their residential housing by-law and allow for six bedrooms inside a rental property. The city’s by-law states the max number is five.

Forgette says it’s unfortunate they couldn’t help out a “professional landlord.”

He says the owner has zero complaints against them and Forgette thinks they need to rework the by-law.

He says the house met the safety standards when the Fire Department and the City did their inspections.
