Nipissing First Nation logoA new Nipissing First Nation chief will be voted in today (Friday).

There are three people vying for the position,  including Doug Chevrier, Arnold May and Scott McLeod.

After nine years as Chief, Marianna Couchie decided not to run again.

She was also Deputy Chief for three years.

Meantime, there are 16 people running for 7 councillor positions in today’s election.

The polls are open from 9 am to 8 pm at the Nipissing First Nation Community Complex in Garden Village and at Nbissing Secondary School on Couchie Memorial Drive.
