water rates committee

Homes that have the smallest installation could see some savings when it comes to their water meters.

This was the decision going forward for the Water Rates Review Committee.

They met yesterday (Monday) and Chair George Maroosis says they have agreed on charging users based on the size of their installations.

He says this looked like the fairest way to charge all three sectors; residential, industrial and commercial.

Maroosis says they have asked city staff to look into instances of multi-dwelling units, such as condominiums.

They are hoping to get a report back in two weeks for their next meeting.

Maroosis says anything they agree upon through this committee must still get a majority vote at council.
