West Nipissing Police

A 33 year old Sturgeon Falls man was taken to hospital after an incident yesterday (Saturday) afternoon.

Around 1:15pm West Nipissing Police responded to a complaint of a male shooting at his neighbour’s home with what was believed to be a pellet gun.

Police arrived and saw damaged had been caused to the John Street area home.

Police then went to investigate the suspect’s home, but the man refused to exit his house to talk to police and was displaying some odd behaviour.

Police had concerns for the suspect’s safety and the multi-dwelling residence was contained, with neighbours asked to leave immediately.

Eventually Police established a communication with the man and he turned himself over to police around 6:30pm. The investigation continues.
