Energy East Pipeline mapA local group that’s concerned about the Energy East pipeline project is holding a public event  on Saturday.  Stop Energy East North Bay is gathering for a picnic at noon at the Elks Family Park on Trout Lake, about five kilometres east of the city on Highway 17.  That’s also where they’ll unveil a campaign billboard.  The group is concerned about the risks the project poses to the Lake Nipissing and Trout Lake watersheds.

The local event coincides with dozens of events across Canada this weekend calling for action on climate change and a halt to tar sands development.
