That’s North Bay Mayor Al McDonald talking about the goals of the Invest North Bay Economic Development Corporation.

He says while it could take years to get there – they are taking the necessary steps in the process.

That included holding an open house/public consultation last night (Tuesday).

Just over a dozen business leaders and residents showed up to have some input in the direction of this corporation.

One idea discussed is focusing on a younger demographic with newer entrepreneurs.

City CAO Jerry Knox says that is an important area of investment.

Knox says they can’t shy away from the future as those small organizations have the capabilities to expand.

He says one question that was asked was how existing businesses or residents will benefit from this group.

McDonald says they appreciate the feedback and they really believe this corporation will give them advantages in attracting business and industry.
