Aspin seniors funding

The Harper Government announced some changes to the Universal Child Care Benefit as part of their balanced budget last month.

The increase in benefits for children up to five will rise from $100 to $160-per month. Families with children up to 17 years of age will also receive a benefit of $60- a month.

MP Jay Aspin says residents of Nipissing-Timiskaming should be apply for this funding.

He says you have to register and normally the deadline is the end of tax season, but Aspin says it has been extended to May 15th.

Aspin adds the government will be distributing the checks in July. Go to Canada.ca/taxsavings in order to register.
