restore your shoreHoping to save the Callander-Wasi watershed from erosion, phosphorus and blue green algae; that’s the thinking behind the Restore your Shore program.

It was launched  Thursday by the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority.

Supervisor Sue Buckle says the program is for property owners along the watershed, and they will help them find ways to prevent those problems. She says “they’ll come up with a planting plan and if the property owner agrees, we will assist the property owners in planting those plants along their shoreline.”

Buckle says they are hoping to reach out to 100 property owners this year.

She explains the plans will be specified to each property owner through consultations.
