Police (north bay)City police have charged a 42 year old North Bay man after responding to a report of a domestic dispute in a North Bay home, just after midnight.

It’s alleged a heated verbal dispute between a woman and her husband resulted in the man taking a newborn and threatening to harm the baby in front of her.

Police say the woman was able to safely get the child back unharmed and fled to another room.

It’s further alleged the man grabbed a hand tool and used it to damage a computer monitor, pursued the woman with the tool and grabbed her.

Police say she was able to break free and call police.

Multiple officers responded and the man was immediately arrested.

The man, who’s name is not being released to protect the identity of the victims, has been charged with child endangerment, assault, assault with a weapon and mischief.
