Dawn NovakIt’s important to speak up about abuse. So says Dawn Novak. 9 years ago her daughter Natalie was murdered by her ex boyfriend. Her presentation If You See It Speak it took place at West Ferris Secondary School Tuesday morning and will be repeated at 630 Tuesday evening. She says she knew nothing of what her daughter was going through.  Novak was asked what she hopes today’s students will take away from the talk and she says she hopes students will use the tools of recognition and awareness and get the help they need by speaking out. Novak says it’s difficult to take part in talks like this but her message of letting others know of what you’re going through is extremely important.

Novak says her mandate is that high school students hear what can happen and do what they can to be safe and healthy.
