Damages are upwards of 100,000 after a house fire on the 800 block of Algonquin Avenue.

Fire crews responded at 5 o’clock this evening (Sunday).

Platoon chief Mike Newman describes what they found when they arrived on the scene.

Meantime, he says there were no injuries.

As for a cause…

Crews from all 3 fire stations responded, with the truck from fire station 3 released after about a half hour.

Newman also says because the fire occurred during shift change they had another truck ready to respond, if needed.

Algonquin Avenue was closed at the fire scene for about two hours.

The roadway reopened just after 7pm.
