Pinewood constructionCouncil has awarded the contract to finish the Pinewood Park Drive Sanitary Sewer extension.

The winning tendered bid came in at just under $3.6-million.

Chair of Engineering and Works Tanya Vrebosch says she’s thankful this project will look to come to an end after nearly two years of work.

Vrebosch says crews should be on site between the middle of May and the beginning of June, with the final paving scheduled to take place at the end of October.

Councillor Daryl Vaillancourt says finishing this project has been long overdue and it’s needed to help grow the business section in that area.

Deputy Mayor Sheldon Forgette says the Councillors aren’t the only people who will be happy to see this project finished saying businesses affected by the long delayed road closures will also be glad to see the project done.
