CUPE rallyProtesters rallied in front of MP Jay Aspin’s office in North Bay at the lunch hour on Tuesday.

They gathered to continue their campaign to get the Prime Minister to sign the Canada Health accord.

The protesters were CUPE members from across the north including North Bay, Sudbury, Timmins and the Sault. Henri Giroux is the president of the North Bay and District CUPE.

He says the prime minister’s decision to not sign the accord will negatively impact health care across the country.

They have sent a letter to Aspin imploring him to get his boss to sign the accord.

They’ve also started a petition calling on people to let Aspin know how they feel.

Meantime, Aspin says federal funding of health care will reach 40 billion dollars a year by the end of the decade.
