A complete success is how Nancy Dewar Stenning describes the FIRST Robotics Regional Competition this past weekend.

It was the second straight year the event was held here in North Bay, and the Executive Director says there was nothing but positives from everyone involved. She says the icing on the cake was Team 1305 qualifying for the World Championship in St. Louis.

Stenning says there’s more work to do now in advance of the tournament. She says “we are very strategic and things will continue to grow and develop.”

Stenning adds “we have a desire to be successful at an international level, so we will be working very hard.”

The team qualified by winning their third straight Chairman’s Award which is given to the team which best embodies the purpose and goals of FIRST.

Stenning says they won this award because they “maintained our focus and maintained our commitment to the community and when they community engages the judges see that as something very positive.”
