In game 1 of their NOJHL final last night, Cochrane was too much for the Voodoos as Powassan fell 7-4 to the Crunch at the Tom Horton Event Centre. Voodoos got the first point from former Cochrane forward Jacob Erwin, and Cochrane responded 37 seconds later tying the game.

The Crunch then took the lead only to have Michael Silveri tie it up once again.

Both teams then repeated the cycle making the score 4-4 going into intermission.

After that it was all downhill for the Voodoos as the Crunch scored 2 more times before the final buzzer.

The Voodoos competed last night without the help of most valuable player and rookie of the year Steve Harland.

Brett Young made 25 stops for the Crunch while Matt Young faced 42 shots in defeat for Powassan.

Game 2 of their best of seven series goes tonight at 8pm in Cochrane.
