"Splash for Stacey" splash pad to open in early June

Splash pad enthusiasts in Almaguin can circle June 6th on their calendar.

That’s when the new “Splash for Stacey” splash pad opens at the Sundridge Lion’s Park.

Chair Jason Stillar started the project to honour his wife Stacey who passed away from liver cancer in 2012.

He says they both grew up in Sundridge on the lake and she was a teacher and loved children.

Stillar says it’s taken a team effort and a lot of work and fundraising to get where they are today, pointing out the community has really rallied behind the project.

The splash pad will include nine water features. He says most of the work on the wrapped up last fall with one more water feature to be set up before the official opening in June.
