Employment down in the North Bay area

The latest local employment figures are in.

Stats Canada is reporting a drop in employment in the area, involving figures for the City of North Bay, Bonfield, Callander and East Ferris.

Employment was at 59 percent last month, down from 63 percent in February 2014.

Meantime, there’s virtually no change in the unemployment figure.

It was at 6.6 percent last month.

That compares with 6.7 percent in February 2014.

But, because the difference is only one tenth of a percent, it’s deemed not statistically significant because it isn’t over and above the standard error.
