NE LHINWhat’s being billed as a multi-million dollar announcement is being made later this morning (Wednesday) locally.

Meantime, tonight’s Battalion-Greyhounds game includes efforts to “Combat Stigma“.

First, the Northeast Local Health Integration Network is providing funding for programs that respond to the needs of people experiencing mental health and addiction issues.

It involves new programs aimed at enhancing access to care and services.

Northeast LHIN and North Bay Regional Health Centre officials will be joined by representatives of the community health service providers for the funding announcement.

Combat Stigma

Tonight, several groups are teaming up to “Combat Stigma” against mental health at the Battalion-Greyhounds game.

Frisbees will be sold for $5, with fans tossing them on the ice during the second intermission to win prizes — including a signed Battalion stick, a Keurig coffee maker and more.

#PointsForPaul donation boxes will also be set up.

Proceeds from the evening are going towards the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
