Fake hydro caller prompts another telephone scam alert

North Bay Police are issuing another alert about a telephone scam, involving a person claiming to be from North Bay Hydro.

This after a complaint that a person demanded immediate payment or electricity service would be disconnected.

Police warn residents that these calls are scams and advise people to simply hang up.

If a customer has an overdue account, North Bay Hydro does not demand immediate payment by credit card or money order, over the phone.

Similar alerts to this situation were issued earlier this year, including the “Community Alert” notice (pictured below) issued by North Bay Hydro.
