North Bay AAA Trappers goalie Ben Gaudreau won gold at the U15 World Selects Invitational in Philadelphia recently.

He’s heading into his OHL draft year this season and tells BayToday after watching Pacey Schlueting get selected in the first round by the Battalion, the tournament helped him realize what needs to be done to get further with the game.

“If you want to get to that level of getting drafted that high or getting drafted at all you’ve got to push that extra level and be that extra elite guy. This was an awesome thing to see what kind of talent you have to be at,”

He says there was quite the crowd on hand for the final.

“Everyone had to stay and watch the finals. There were about 300 people in our final game which was awesome,” Gaudreau says.

The international event saw plenty of OHL, NCAA and USHL scouts in the stands. Check out the full story at BayToday.ca
