There’s a shop local movement in North Bay. Rogers Radio which has 3 stations in North Bay including Country 600, KiSS 100.5 and 101.9 ROCK held a ceremony and flag raising outside North Bay City Hall and was attended by city and chamber of commerce officials.

Morning show host on KiSS 100.5 Kevin Oschefski says there are many benefits to shopping local including keeping money in the area and supporting your neighbors but there’s another big one too.

“There’s nothing better than walking into a store and the people behind the counter say by name I have something you’re going to love. That feeling of community is unmatched except by local businesses,” he says.
North Bay City Councillor Mike Anthony says local businesses provide so much value to the community.

“They invest in our teams, our community, they employ people and they’re usually your neighbour and friend,” Anthony says.
