176 Lakeshore Drive will soon be home to a new visual, media and performing arts space.

Renovations are underway and the Nipissing Region Curatorial Collective says they’re expected to be done by May 1st.

The new gallery will feature 500 feet of new presentation wall space and a video and film showcase gallery.

A unique outdoor gallery will feature exhibits of sculptural work, earth and ice art along with two 14 foot screens for media arts.

In a release officials say the new galleries, known as NOVAH, will be an integral part of a new “Innovation and Co-working Hub” that focuses on Arts, Wellness and Commerce.

“This project has been a long time coming and we are very excited about it,” says Dermot Wilson, NRCC Project Leader. “I would like to acknowledge the hard work of my project partners Lori Grace Nickerson, Richard Fortin, Christian Fortin and the entire NRCC collective! What we are creating here is unique for the entire region.”

NRCC received funding for the new gallery which is a partnership with the Department of Canadian Heritage and Pronor developments.
