Now that the Ontario PC’s have held their leadership race Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says the focus will be on winning the June provincial election.

He made the comment after a long drawn out process this weekend with Doug Ford emerging as leader.

Ford made his victory speech Saturday but it wasn’t until Sunday before the runner-up Christine Elliot conceded.

He was asked about party unity moving forward.

“Three groups are going to be unhappy for a short period of time. For all the small differences that we have we have a bigger battle now and that’s to win an election in June,” he says.

Fedeli says they’ll be doing it with Ford as their leader.

Fedeli says Ford is a big supporter of returning rail service to the north.

“I met with him on Sunday and we spoke specifically about that. I’m happy about that. You’re going to see someone who wants to get the Ring of Fire going because that’s so important to North Bay businesses,” he says.

Fedeli says it’s only the PC’s that can offer real change and relief to families.
