West Ferris has a couple reasons to smile with the Fraser Institute’s annual Report Card on Ontario’s Secondary Schools.

The report ranks 747 schools on seven academic indicators, based on results of annual province-wide Grade 9 math and Grade 10 literacy tests.

At 175th, West Ferris is tops locally.

It’s also one of the 10 fastest-improving secondary schools in Ontario for Gr. 9 applied math with it’s 2013 rating of 1.5 nearly doubling to 2.9 in 2017.

Out of 747 secondary schools in Ontario, here are the rankings locally:

West Ferris – 175
Chippewa – 196
St Joseph-Scollard Hall – 314
Widdifield – 345
Franco-Cité – 520
