The North Bay Police Services Board has approved a two per cent increase in some of the boards fees the public uses.

“The way the Police Services Act reads is that the police are allowed to recoup costs. We’re not in the business to make a profit on the paperwork and the records that we provide to the public,” said Chief Shawn Devine.

He says sworn members have received a 2 per cent pay increase, while the increase for civilian members is one per cent.

“The average is taken on the increase and is applied to things like court reports and accident reports,” he said.

The increases were approved at last week’s police services board meeting.
