The North Bay Battalion put up a fight in the Soo on Friday, but lost 3-1 to the host Greyhounds.

Julian Sime made 37 saves on 39 shots, earning first star honours.

The final Greyhounds goal was scored on an empty net.

Luke Burghardt scored the lone goal for the Troops, who fired 28 shots at the Soo net .

The victory was Sault Ste Marie’s 16th in a row.

North Bay is back in action on Sunday, at home to the Barrie Colts.

Today (Saturday) the Battalion are holding their annual used equipment sale from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Memorial Gardens.

 

In the NOJHL, the Powassan Voodoos blasted Espanola 10-1.

Kobe Desmond scored a hat trick for Powassan in the win.

Aaron Dickson found the back of the net twice with five other Voodoos chipping in with singles.

Powassan is now idle until next Friday when they travel to Cochrane.
