There were plenty of smiles in September when Smile Cookies were for sale at local Tim Horton’s outlets, and there are plenty more smiles on Monday too.

That’s because Tim Hortons has presented Community Living North Bay with a cheque for $40,000.

The full $1 from each Smile Cookie sold at participating local Tim Hortons outlets went to Community Living North Bay.

Director Darlene Brooks says the money will support many of the services they provide for their clients.

“From residential kinds of support to community participation and clinical services too. There’s a real variety and it’s for children and adults. And we support right now about 550 people and their families,” she says.

Brooks points out this $40,000 represents the 1st year of a 3 year commitment Tim Hortons is making to Community Living North Bay.

North Bay Tim Hortons franchisee Brandon Moffat says it’s their way of giving back to the community.

“The first high five needs to go to the staff at all the restaurants locally. What they do on that one week above and beyond what they do on a daily basis is just incredible,” he says.
