Since June 2015 the Labour Market Group has been compiling the job vacancy study for the district and one question that has consistently been asked is “where are the jobs?”.

Now, those interested and those looking for work can find out.

Thanks to a Trillium Foundation grant the Labour Market Group has launched the website readysethired.ca, a regional job portal for vacant positions recorded in real time.

Officials say on average, approximately 400 jobs are posted on a monthly basis throughout the districts.

“At the end of each month when the vacancy numbers are revealed, the question we are most often asked is ‘Where are all of these jobs?” Executive Director Stacey Fiddler adds.

She says LMG is now able to provide the community with the answer. With the assistance of a seed grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, readysethired.ca is a ‘real time’ job portal where any member of the public can access the available job vacancies as they are being recorded. As LMG is collecting the vacancies for the study, they will be posted to the portal in real time.

“We are encouraging job seekers throughout the districts to access the portal regularly to ensure they are not missing out on available opportunities in their region.”

Employers are also encouraged to contact the office to ensure their postings are captured on the portal.
