The college faculty strike in Ontario is over with faculty, including those at Canadore, heading back to their schools today (Monday).

Back to work legislation passed yesterday at Queen’s Park with Advanced Eduation Minister Deb Matthews saying the semester has been saved.

“This terrible chapter is over, parties will go to mediation, arbitration,” she says.

Student advocates say trying to condense five-weeks of course material into two extra weeks will be stressful for students.

Canadore welcomes the back to work legislation being passed.

The college says students will follow their previously established schedules and will have the opportunity to access a myriad of additional provisions focused on student success in support of semester recovery.
