Brad Chenier (pictured) led the way for the North Bay Battalion yesterday (Sunday), scoring a hat trick in a 6-5 win over the Sudbury Wolves.

After Chenier put the Troops up 6-3 midway through the third, Sudbury scored two more, but the Battalion would hold on for the win and snap their six game losing streak.

Brandon Coe, Justin Brazeau and Luke Burghardt also scored for North Bay.

Next up, the Battalion host Kitchener on Thursday.

Still locally, the Widdifield junior girls basketball team won the NOSSA championship on the weekend.

They defeated St Mary’s from the Soo in the final.

In senior boys volleyball, Chippewa won the AAA NOSSA title and is heading to the OFSAA championship in Waterloo this week.
